Academy Credentialing Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible for board certification, candidates must meet the following requirements:
1) Educational Qualifications and Diploma's Required
- Applicants must hold an accredited degree in politics, diplomacy or international relations or closely
related field, including at least 18 hours of specialization and qualifying courses within an accredited Degree
or Master’s or Doctorate program.
- Advanced degrees such as a Master's or Doctorate, are highly regarded but not required.
2) Experience - Experiential Requirements
- Candidates must have a minimum of 3 years of professional experience in political science, diplomacy,
relations, governmental affairs, or public service roles.
- Experience should demonstrate a track record of success and high standards.
3) Ethics and Continuing
Education
Specialization in Politics, Diplomacy, Trade, or International Relations
- Certification is available in various specialized fields within political science, including but not
limited to international relations, public policy, political theory, and comparative politics.
- Candidates must demonstrate a specialized focus and depth of experience in one of these areas, which may
include political practice, academic research, or a combination of both.

Written Examination Not Required but Available
- If not already qualified, Applicants may be required to take a written examination specific to their area
of specialization. The examination will assess the candidate's depth of knowledge, analytical skills, and

- The examination typically includes multiple-choice questions, short-answer questions, and case
analysis.
Maintaining Board Certification
